(North
Canton, Ohio) July 7, 2008 – What do ovens, automobiles and
vacations have in common? Women are making the buying
decisions regarding all three in record numbers. But far
from being concerned with only material possessions or
leisure activities, today’s women are interested in a secure
financial future for themselves and their families. A local
insurance expert and female business owner will address the
role insurance plays in maintaining financial health at two
upcoming Women & Money seminars.
The
Women & Money seminar, a free program sponsored by the
State of Ohio Treasurer Richard Cordray, was developed to
offer women valuable information, presented by experts in
their field, regarding many important financial decisions.
Despite the powerful role women play in our economy, women
still earn, on average, less than men. This means that women
also tend to have smaller pensions and retirement savings.
Add to this the fact that women typically have longer life
spans than men, and it becomes evident that women need their
money to stretch farther and work harder for them.
Barbara
Fausnight, president of Executive Insurance Group in North
Canton, brings her unique background to her presentations,
to be held August 8 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in
Dayton and August 15 in Akron. In addition to insurance,
other topics being presented include budgeting, credit and
debt, entrepreneurship, investments, identity theft,
retirement, estate planning, elder care, home ownership, and
kids and money.
“It is
gratifying to see more and more women venturing into
entrepreneurship,” says Fausnight, who has successfully
grown the business she founded 30 years ago while raising a
family of three children. “At the same time, women are also
making more decisions regarding family finances, and this
means that we are more interested than ever in the financial
health of our families.”
Fausnight
addresses factors that are necessary to consider in making
informed decisions regarding insurance
coverage.
“The
process of making the best decision regarding insurance
involves weighing a variety of factors,” says Fausnight,
whose firm focuses on auto, home, life and commercial
policies. “I have found, in working with my clients, the
ultimate benefit to finding the right solution is peace of
mind.”
Women
& Money is open to the public. The seminar includes a
continental breakfast, a boxed lunch and afternoon
refreshments. Seminar participants are able to choose two
morning classes and two afternoon classes from an array of
class offerings, in addition to attending the opening and
closing sessions. Prize drawings, as well as free
information, will be offered by vendors associated with the
conference. To register, visit www.yourmoneynowonline.org
